WHEN TO CALL A MENTAL HEALTH TIMEOUT?
There are some times when we call a mental health time out and just go with the flow.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
For example, we don't create a big mess just to weigh our food. Tuna packets, for example, are one of those times we call a MHT (mental health timeout). There is no need to open a packet to make sure the grams are on point. Some things can be entirely too messy to take out of the pre-package that it comes in. Jello packets are another example. We just take the packet word for it and log it as such.
Another time to take a mental health timeout is when it's becomes something you are obsessing over. Sometimes that can be an unhealthy thing. Just step back and reevaluate. Chances are you're probably over thinking it. At first it becomes tedious to make sure you're hitting your macros dead on. It can be frustrating when they don't add up the way you need them too.
Should you ever feel that weighing and logging everything is becoming something that is not mentally healthy for you, step back and reassess. Weighing is most accurate, but some days or even some meals it may be more stress than needed. At the end of the day you should feel healthy and happy.Â
This is all a learning process that gets better each and every day you stay determined to get it right.
