Q & A: How to eat out and count Macros?
Question and Answer Series:
We have been answering frequently asked questions over the past week. If you've missed some please feel free to look back on the posts. We also have them under our blog on our website at ↪ www.toddandkristishow.com↩ There is some pretty good information on this macro life we live and breathe.
Tonight's frequently asked question that we will address is how we count our macros and eat away from home.
I'll start by saying that we vary rarely eat out. We will enjoy a night out for pizza or Mexican about once a month, if that. This isn't because we can't eat out, we just enjoy eating at home and saving money too. ☺👌 Plus most places cook with butter etc (even when ordering semi healthy) and it saves us a belly ache.
On the occasion that we do eat out, we order what we want that comes close to fitting our macros. No, we don't bring a scale with us. (Someone has asked that before. Ha!) We are dedicated but not to the point of pulling a scale out of my purse. 😂
We still log our food as close to the menu as possible, and we round a little higher on the macros them what the app says. Most restaurants have nutritional menus online that gives the macros as well.
So in short, yes, you can still enjoy a meal in a restaurant or fast food for that matter. There are still ways to meet your macros and eat at Chick-fil-A.
