This question has a lengthy answer so we are going to split this up into several posts.
We will start with #1:
The first thing you need to get started counting macros is finding out what macros fit your goals. Macros that we focus on are Proteins, carbs, and Fats in grams. So to do this you need your macros calculated personally for you. These numbers come from a formula that figures in your TDEE, personal stats like age, sex, weight and height, and your activity level including exercise. Then it figures in the formula to help you reach your goals, for example, weight loss ( cutting) , maintaining current (maintenance) weight or gaining weight (bulking). We are all different and all have different macro numbers.
There are ways we can recommend for you to find your macros for your goals.
1.) The first way is our preferred way, which is to have Todd calculate them for you. He does charge a small fee, but compared to what you would pay another online iifym coach to calculate them for you, he's pretty darn cheap. 👊👏 ↪ www.toddandkristishow.com ↩
2.) There are hundreds of iifym coaches that will calculate them for you, but will more than likely charge you three times what we do.
3.) There are also hundreds of free online macro calculators, but they are all going to give you a different result, and it leaves you guessing which one is right. From personal experience one free calculator had me eating 1,038 calories and I eat 1,938 on the same stats for each one. So just be weary if you go this route.
At the end of the day, whichever route you choose to get your macros, we still want to be a friendly face you can come to for help and inspiration. Even if you don't do macros, we still want to inspire. ❤How to start a macro life.
